Birth of a Studio

The Journey

Ready at last! After what seemed like endless days and nights… (oh hang on: it WAS endless days and nights) of carrying bricks, wiring, sanding, filling and painting the studio is finally ready.

There have been some hurdles along the way which all added to the rich tapestry this journey has become. I would like to thank the neighbours for allowing us to destroy parts of their garden at the start of the build and for the access to our completely non-accessible garden. Speaking of no access… every goddamn brick in the studio has taken a journey through our living room on my trusty four wheeled cart. What fun!

You can read some of the access challenges and other episodes on my blog.

Also a big thank you to the E-team Matthew, Ian and Phil for helping me with the electrics. Matthew again for helping me again to finish the electrics. I have an alarm, smoke detector, welcoming lights, intercom, internet and power.

Lastly, thank you to everyone who helped me in any shape or form -family, friends & builders- to help me to make my studio reality.

Feel welcome to visit me. You’ll be offered a cup of coffee, english builders tea or a glass of wine.

Death of my trousers

Who needs professional builder’s trousers when you have a pair of trusty jeans to last the whole build. Here is their journey in dust and dirt!
